Throwback Thursday!

Random Thought

Its another Thursday people and time once again to share one of my "old" write -ups! do enjoy. Make your life count!

Empathy: the ability to understand another person's feeling.
Sympathy: the feeling of being sorry for someone.

The difference between the two is the ability to truly feel another person's heartbeat. In the Garden of Gathesemene, the disciples sympathized with Jesus but I don't think anyone truly felt what he was feeling; the pain, fear and heartbreak. If they truly had the ability to feel his pain, none of them would have been sleeping, they would have been by his side.
In the old testament, God told a prophet to marry a prostitute. To love her the way a man loves a wife, to care for her and put her under his roof. After he had done all these, she still went around sleeping with other men even after she had bore him children. God wanted him to feel what He felt. He loved Israel but yet they worshipped other gods and utterly disobeyed every commandment He gave and did worse than the yardstick for sin [Ezekiel 16]. They never acknowledged His Love for them.
When love comes, it loves despite! that's the kind of love God shows us and expects us to show one another. But what happens when your heart felt love for someone is ignored and that person loves another? Or when you love someone, the person acknowledges the fact he/she loves you back but does nothing to buttress that fact. It hurts beyond words can explain. You feel the pain of rejection, your heart breaks even at the thought of the person. You try to savour any moment you get to share or spend with the person but somehow you know it isn't reciprocated or true enough for what you feel but you take it like that because it is who your heart longs for. You love despite the pain.
A man of God once shared in one of  his books about his experiences with the Holy Spirit how he was given a rare opportunity to feel His heartbeat. He said it was a burden of pain, sorrow for lost souls. " it lasted for 2 weeks"....the heaviness! He loves everyone but not everyone loves him back. Jesus love through his death can only be reciprocated through accepting Him as Lord and Savior but how many have rejected him and His Spirit! So if we feel so much heartbreak because of 1 boy or girl how much more  hurt the Holy Spirit is feeling because of rejection by the millions He loves?
Even we that claim to be His temple yet we steal, lie, cheat, fornicate, sin at every chance we get. In the words of Jesus.."if you love me; do my commandment"
If we could share the burden of the Holy Spirit, we would be eager to share His message...Jesus Loves you: try loving Him back! We would live our lives with caution. Don't be a prostitute, be a bride!

God Bless
